Awareness and education
My Mental Health
Mental health education, media and storytelling that replace silence and stigma with understanding.

What it is
About My Mental Health
My Mental Health is the Foundation's awareness, education and media program. It creates mental health literacy content, lived-experience storytelling and anti-stigma campaigns in the languages and formats communities actually use — from radio and television to social media, schools, workplaces and faith communities.
How it works
- Plain-language education about mental health, warning signs, support options and recovery.
- Lived-experience stories shared with informed consent, dignity and follow-up support.
- Anti-stigma campaigns produced with local creators, journalists and community media.
- Every piece of content ends with a safe next step, never with distress alone.
Who it helps
Anyone trying to understand what they or someone they love is going through: young people, families, students, workers, faith communities and the wider public.
How it connects to support
Content always points somewhere real: to an AngelMind for a supportive conversation, to HelpMe2 for substance-use questions, to a BridgeMinds partner service, or to local crisis resources when someone needs help now.
Where it operates
Across the Mental Help Foundation network — Mental Help America, Mental Help Africa and all five African country branches.
Safety and boundaries
Editorial care
We do not sensationalise distress, suicide, trauma or addiction, and no one's story is published without separate, informed consent. Support is never conditional on being featured publicly.
Connected programs
No program stands alone
Support rarely fits inside one program. These are the ones this work connects with most closely.
